現在、解体作業中の新潟の古民家O邸の囲炉裏のある座敷には、「質素倹約」と黒漆で大きく書かれた大黒柱があります。筆は達筆で大らかな文字です。
この墨書きを書いたのは、12代目ご当主の廣林、水右衛門さん（１８１６年～１８５３年）だそうです。江戸幕府による天保の改革、質素倹約の時代と合致します。
その当時の世相を見てとることが出来ますね。
水右衛門さんは書に通じた方で、役所の書役をされた方だそうですが、３７歳という若さで早世されています。
しかし、柱の文字は若々しく伸びやかで、語りかけてくるような雰囲気があります。
他のご当主の方に比べるとかなりの短命ですが、柱の文字は黒々としていて子孫を見守っているような存在感がありました。
この大黒柱は、移築先ではどのような空間におかれるのでしょうか、今からとても楽しみです。
実は、「廣林」さんの正式な呼び方がわかりませんが、個人的には「ヒロリン」さん大黒柱と呼びたいです。

First off I want to say awesome blog! I had a quick question in which I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing. I've had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Cheers!
